Employme Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a leading truck dealership in New Plymouth, and we're looking for a skilled, motivated Heavy Vehicle Technician to join their busy workshop.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working on heavy commercial vehicles, tackling challenging faults and being part of a team that takes pride in keeping trucks on the road.
What You'll Be Doing You'll be working on a range of heavy commercial vehicles, carrying out servicing, maintenance, repairs and diagnostics to keep customers moving and trucks performing at their best.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Preventative servicing and routine maintenance
- Mechanical repairs, overhauls and component replacement
- Electrical diagnostics and fault finding
- Heavy vehicle inspections and WOF-related repairs
- Diagnosing faults and finding effective, practical solutions
- Ensuring all work meets high-quality and safety standards
- Maintaining a clean, organised and professional workshop
- Working collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced dealership environment
You'll ideally have:
- A relevant heavy automotive trade qualification
- Previous truck or heavy commercial vehicle experience
- Strong mechanical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
- A positive attitude and reliable work ethic
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A commitment to workplace health and safety
- A current NZ Driver Licence
