We are currently looking for a skilled and motivated Heavy Vehicle Technician to join a well-established and busy truck service operation. This is a great opportunity to work with a reputable business that has a strong focus on quality workmanship, customer service and supporting its people.
The Role
As a Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repair of a range of heavy commercial vehicles.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance on heavy commercial vehicles
- Completing WOF-related repairs and inspections where required
- Fault finding and diagnostic work
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard
- Maintaining a safe and tidy workshop
- Working closely with the wider workshop and service team
We are keen to hear from candidates who have:
- Previous experience working as a Heavy Vehicle or Truck Mechanic
- Relevant heavy automotive mechanical qualifications
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience working on trucks and/or heavy commercial vehicles
- A strong focus on safety and quality workmanship
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A positive attitude and good communication skills
- A current NZ Driver Licence
- A strong work ethic and a genuine passion for the heavy vehicle industry
- Full-time, permanent position, offering minimum 40 hours per week
