At EmployMe Solutions, we specialise in recruiting great people for the automotive and transport industries. We understand workshops, dealerships, service departments, and what makes a strong team tick.

Right now, we’re partnering with a well-established business in Otago to find an experienced Service Manager who can lead from the front, build a high-performing team, and keep operations running smoothly.

If you know how to balance people, performance, and customer experience, this could be your next move.

About the Role
This is more than just running a workshop - you will like to get stuck in and get your hands dirty - not on tools but helping the team where needed, where team work makes the dream work!

We’re looking for someone who can create a positive team culture, drive performance, and ensure customers receive outstanding service from start to finish.
You’ll be overseeing day-to-day service operations, supporting your team, managing workflow, and helping the business deliver excellent results. No two days will look exactly the same, and that’s part of what makes this role exciting.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading and motivating service advisors, technicians, and workshop staff
  • Managing workshop workflow, scheduling, and productivity
  • Driving labour efficiency and workshop profitability
  • Maintaining high-quality workmanship and service delivery
  • Monitoring costs, budgets, pricing, and supplier relationships
  • Building strong relationships with customers and internal teams
  • Ensuring health, safety, and compliance standards are met
  • Creating a workshop culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and customer satisfaction
About You
You’re someone who knows the automotive service industry and understands what good leadership looks like. You’re organised, solutions-focused, and calm under pressure. You can manage the bigger picture while still staying across the details.

You may come from a background as a:
  • Service Manager
  • Workshop Controller
  • Senior Service Advisor
  • Senior Technician stepping into leadership
Ideally, you’ll bring:
  • Strong automotive or service or rental industry experience
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Commercial awareness and operational focus
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Full New Zealand driver licence
What’s In It for You?
  • Competitive salary of six figures depending on experience
  • Full-time permanent opportunity
  • Monday to Friday role
  • Work in one of New Zealand’s most desirable locations
  • Join a supportive and forward-thinking business
  • Make a genuine impact in a leadership role
If you’re ready for a role where you can lead a team, improve performance, and make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.
