An established and busy outdoor power equipment dealership in Auckland is looking for a Small Engine Mechanic to join their high-performing team. About the Role
This is more than just turning spanners. As a senior technician, you’ll play a key role in keeping the workshop running smoothly while setting the standard for quality workmanship.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Diagnosing and repairing a wide range of outdoor power equipment
- Working on everything from handheld tools to ride-on mowers
- Handling advanced fault-finding and complex repairs
- Supporting and mentoring junior technicians and apprentices
- Assisting with workflow, job prioritisation, and workshop efficiency
- Maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship
- Competitive remuneration reflecting your experience and leadership - $35 - $39 per hour, dependant on skill level

You’re someone who knows their way around an engine and enjoys solving problems others can’t.
- Proven experience as a small engine mechanic or in a similar senior role
- Trade qualification in a relevant field OR a minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience working with small engines
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Background in outdoor power equipment, automotive, motorcycles, or diesel
- Ability to mentor and support junior team members
- High attention to detail and pride in your work
- Good communication skills and customer awareness
- Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
- NZ Drivers license or the ability to convert to a New Zealand licence
