EmployMe Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a well-established materials-handling specialist with a strong reputation across the Waikato region.

Due to continued growth, we’re seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic / Field Service Technician to join a busy, professional team servicing a wide range of customers in industrial, agricultural, and logistics environments.

The Role You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing forklifts and materials-handling equipment both in the workshop and out in the field. This is a hands-on role offering variety, autonomy, and strong support from an experienced technical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service and repair forklifts and materials-handling equipment
  • Attend breakdowns in the field and workshop
  • Carry out diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and pre-delivery inspections
  • Complete job cards and service documentation accurately
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding work completed and recommendations
  • Participate in ongoing technical and OEM training

About You
  • NZQA Level 4 Trade Qualification (Automotive, Heavy Diesel, or similar)
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-trade experience with forklifts or similar machinery
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Professional, customer-focused communication style
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented

What’s On Offer
  • Full-time, permanent position (minimum 40 hours per week)
  • $38–$40 per hour, depending on experience
  • Company vehicle for business use
  • Overtime available plus on-call allowance (1 week in 3)
  • Modern diagnostic tools, quality equipment, and ongoing training
