We’re currently partnering with a well-respected heavy diesel and machinery service provider based in Nelson, and they’re looking for a talented Diesel Mechanic / Field Service Technician to join their busy, high-performing team. This isn’t your standard workshop job- you’ll enjoy variety, independence, and real pathways for career development.
What You’ll Be Taking On
- Diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide range of heavy diesel machinery and equipment
- Handling everything from hydraulic systems and engine overhauls to urgent on-site breakdowns
- Managing field service work across the Nelson/Tasman region with a fully outfitted service vehicle
- Using diagnostic tools and your technical expertise to minimise downtime
- Working with a supportive crew that values accuracy, pride, and professionalism
- Bring 5+ years’ experience working with heavy diesel, trucks, construction, or agricultural machinery
- Hold a Level 4 trade qualification in Heavy Automotive (or similar)
- Have strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, and diagnostic systems
- Are confident working both in the workshop and out in the field
- Hold a full NZ driver’s licence and bring a positive, can-do mindset
- Excellent pay - up to $45/hr, depending on experience
