At EmployMe Solutions, we’re matchmakers for people who can fix anything that digs, lifts, tilts, or beeps in reverse. One of New Zealand’s largest construction‑equipment groups is recruiting for a qualified mechanic for their workshop in Southland.
What We’re Looking For
- Trade‑qualified heavy‑diesel tech or 3–4 years’ hands‑on earth‑moving experience
- Proven skills with forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts and big dirt‑chewers
- Fault‑finding Jedi: mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical
- Self‑starter & time‑management boss – you don’t need micromanaging
- Full drivers license, minimum Class 1
- Strong customer‑facing communication skills, with the patience and clarity to explain complex repair procedures in a professional and approachable manner
- Service and maintenance on breakdowns in the workshop and out in the wild (field service)
- Run pre‑delivery tests on shiny new (and lovingly used) machines before they meet their forever owners
- Diagnose gremlins fast, smash out quality repairs, log it all in clear job cards
- Minimum 40 hours/week – overtime there when you want to fluff up the paycheque
- Highly competitive remuneration that reflects the value of your skills and experience
- OVERTIME: You’re paid for every spanner turn, with overtime available during busy stretches
- Access to diagnostic laptops, specialist tooling, and tidy service vehicles - less improvising, more fixing
- Annual allowance helps you upgrade personal tools, while OEM training keeps you current on the latest excavators, loaders, and access equipment
- Free medical insurance
