At EmployMe Solutions, we specialise in matching skilled tradespeople with New Zealand’s top employers. Right now, one of the country's largest construction equipment groups is on the hunt for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join their thriving Hamilton team.

Based in a growing, dynamic city that's the gateway to the mighty Waikato, you’ll be working from a state-of-the-art workshop and hitting the road with a fully equipped field service ute — surrounded by rolling farmland, vibrant cafes, and no Auckland traffic headaches!

With business booming and the fleet expanding, this is your chance to be part of a tight-knit team where your skills are genuinely valued.

What We're Looking For:
  • Trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Technician, or 3–4+ years' hands-on experience with earthmoving equipment
  • Practical experience with forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and heavy construction machinery
  • Strong diagnostic abilities across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management — you know how to manage your day without someone breathing down your neck
  • Full Class 1 licence required, HT a must; WTR endorsements a big plus
  • Solid communication skills — you can explain repairs clearly and professionally to customers

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Servicing and repairing heavy machinery both in the workshop and on-site (field service)
  • Conducting pre-delivery inspections to ensure machines are in top shape before handover
  • Diagnosing faults quickly and delivering high-quality repairs
  • Keeping clear, detailed records of all work completed
  • A minimum of 40 hours per week — overtime available if you want to boost your earnings

What's In It for You:
  • Competitive hourly rates, plus overtime payments
  • High-quality service vehicles, laptops, and diagnostic tools — everything you need to do your job well
  • Annual tool allowance and regular OEM training
  • Free medical insurance
  • A modern, organised workshop and supportive team culture
  • The Hamilton lifestyle: affordable living, central North Island location, and a short drive to beaches, lakes, and ski fields!
