At EmployMe Solutions, we specialise in connecting great people with top New Zealand employers. Right now, a well-established engineering company is on the hunt for a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join their busy, modern team in Gisborne.

If you're a diesel wizard who loves a challenge, can handle both field service and workshop repairs without breaking a sweat, and still manage a good yarn with the crew — this could be your next big move!

What We're Looking For:
  • Trade-certified Diesel Mechanic (NZ or relevant overseas qualifications accepted)
  • 3+ years post qualification ’ hands-on experience with heavy machinery and field service work
  • Solid diagnostic skills — you find faults faster than a GPS
  • Hydraulic experience — because pressure is your playground
  • A knack for customer service — clear, friendly, and professional
  • Ability to work independently and stay organised on the go
  • Current NZ Driver’s Licence or eligibility to obtain one
  • Team player that will get along with his / her team mates and want to build a career with the company
  • NZ Residency or valid NZ Work Visa, we are open to offshore migrants if they meet the criteria as the company is an accredited employer

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Detecting, diagnosing, and repairing faults in diesel engines and heavy machinery
  • Performing scheduled maintenance services to keep machines humming
  • Dismantling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling engines and mechanical systems
  • Carrying out field service work and responding to breakdowns with superhero speed
  • Issuing roadworthiness inspections or advising on necessary repairs
  • Managing parts orders and job documentation with sharp accuracy
  • Testing and double-checking all repairs for top-quality workmanship
  • Communicating clearly with customers, workshop staff, and management
  • Always putting health & safety first — because we like our team happy and healthy

What's In It for You:
  • Competitive pay based on your skills and experience
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week — no guesswork on your paycheck
  • Subsidised health insurance + Kiwisaver
  • Modern workshop and field equipment
  • A supportive, down-to-earth team that values great work and good humour
  • Career stability with a company that’s been getting it done right for over 40 years
