EmployMe is recruiting on behalf of our client - a proudly Kiwi-owned company keeping New Zealand’s biggest projects moving with their modern fleet of heavy vehicles and equipment.
We’re looking for a hands-on Diesel Mechanic - Foreman who’s just as comfortable on the tools as they are leading a great bunch of people. If you enjoy solving problems, keeping things running smoothly, and having a laugh while getting the job done, this one’s for you. The role is based in South Auckland & offers heaps of work and overtime for someone interested in making extra dollars!

About the Role
This is a leadership role where you’ll be more than just the  on tools “boss”-you’ll be the go-to person your team trusts and looks up to. You’ll manage day-to-day workshop operations, guide your crew of five, and make sure every piece of machinery is performing at its best. You’ll work across a range of heavy vehicles and equipment, helping keep New Zealand’s infrastructure projects on track. No two days are the same - and that’s exactly what keeps it interesting.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading and organising workshop activities to keep everything running like clockwork
  • Carrying out repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy vehicles
  • Mentoring and supporting technicians and apprentices - sharing your knowledge and experience
  • Ensuring safety standards and documentation are always up to scratch
  • Lending a hand with breakdowns or field service jobs when needed
What You’ll Bring
  • A trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics or relevant trade
  • A genuine passion for the trade and pride in a job well done
  • Strong technical skills with heavy vehicles, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Experience leading a small team - or the confidence to step up into that space
  • A good sense of humour and the ability to stay calm when things get busy.
What’s on Offer
  • $45 per hour, plus 1.7x pay after 50 hours per week
  • Job security
  • Medical insurance, a company vehicle, phone, and laptop
  • A modern, well-equipped workshop with a supportive team that’s got your back
  • Training and development opportunities
  • A workplace that values hard work, honesty, and good banter
  • A step up into a leadership role if you are a Diesel Mechanic looking for that next step up
If you’re a skilled truck mechanic with strong hydraulic experience, or perhaps someone with a background in heavy equipment or agricultural equipment who’s ready for an exciting new challenge working on a variety of gear - get in touch today.
Apply now through EmployMe -  this could be the role that takes your career to the next level. You can contact the team on 0800 369 777 for details about the role.
