At EmployMe Solutions, we connect skilled tradespeople with roles that keep New Zealand moving and lifting.
Our client is a well-established crane and lifting equipment specialist with a strong reputation for reliability, technical expertise, and top-tier customer service. With teams operating across Auckland, they support a wide range of industries including construction, logistics, and heavy industry. They’re now looking for an experienced Crane Technician to join their growing service teams.
About the Company
This respected organisation has built its name on keeping lifting equipment operating safely and efficiently. From installation and servicing through to inspections and breakdown repairs, they provide end-to-end support for cranes and lifting systems across New Zealand. Their technicians are known for solving problems in the real world, not just the workshop manual. With modern tools, ongoing training, and a supportive team culture, they give their people the resources to do their best work every day.
What We’re Looking For
- NZQA Level 4 Trade Qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, Heavy Diesel, or similar)
- Previous experience working with cranes, hoists, lifting equipment, or heavy machinery
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems
- Solid understanding of safety procedures and compliance requirements
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers
- A self-motivated technician who enjoys both field service and hands-on technical work
- Service, maintain, and repair cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment at customer sites and in the workshop
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out efficient repairs
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to keep equipment operating safely
- Complete breakdown call-outs when required and minimise downtime for clients
- Record service work accurately through job cards and maintenance reports
- Communicate with customers about findings, repairs completed, and recommended maintenance
- Participate in ongoing training to stay up to speed with evolving lifting technology
If you’re the kind of technician who enjoys variety, this role delivers. One day you might be troubleshooting a crane system high above a busy workshop floor, the next you’re out on-site helping a customer get critical equipment back up and running.
You’ll join a team that values practical skill, good humour, and pride in a job done right. The work is hands-on, technically interesting, and no two days look exactly the same.
You’ll also have access to modern equipment, training opportunities, and a supportive team that understands the importance of skilled technicians in keeping New Zealand’s industries lifting, building, and moving.
What’s In It for You
- Full-time, permanent position (minimum 40 hours per week)
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience
- Company vehicle provided for business use
- Overtime opportunities available
- Ongoing technical training and development
- Work with modern diagnostic tools and quality equipment
- Supportive team environment in Auckland
