We’re looking for a qualified Automotive Technician to join a high-performing, fast-paced site in Wellington. This is a dynamic workshop that hums with activity, driven by a team who take pride in getting the job done right, and enjoying the ride while they do it.
What you’ll be doing:
- Diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a range of light vehicles – efficiently and accurately
- Using the latest diagnostics equipment to solve problems
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with employees and other departments to establish a positive workplace culture
- Working closely with a team that backs each other
- Perform routine and repair work on vehicles in a way that ensures prompt and accurate diagnoses of vehicle problems and service requirements
- To identify faults & test-drive company and customer vehicles safely
- Work with Service and Parts Advisors to ensure a smooth repair and service of all vehicles, while delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction in order to drive business for the service department and the company overall
- Upskilling themselves to keep up to date with the latest in procedures, repairs and product knowledge
- Maintaining a full understanding of servicing schedules and the requirements
- Completing all formal company and manufacturing required technical training
- Relevant NZQF Level 4 Motor trade qualification (or international equivalent) OR at least 3 years’ experience as an Automotive technician
- Confidence working across a range of makes and models
- Sound fault-finding and diagnostic experience
- Proficient computer skills with good written and verbal communication
- Quality attention to detail in recording vehicle information, concentrating on getting it right the first time
- Someone who’s just as comfortable with a scan tool as a spanner
- A team player with a reliable, can-do attitude – your word counts here
- Full NZ driver’s licence
- Full-time, permanent work offering 40 hours per week in a genuinely busy and respected workshop
